Our research group studies the physiopathological mechanisms that trigger diarrheas caused by Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) and the action of Shiga toxin (Stx2) and other virulence factors responsible for Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS), with the purpose of developing new strategies to decrease the incidence of EHEC and the development of HUS.
