We are interested in identifying mechanisms underlying the formation, maintenance, and regeneration of neural circuits, with a focus on neuro-glial communication. Our goal is to understand phenomena of anatomical and functional plasticity in animal models of neuronal damage, aiming to identify therapeutic targets of interest. We utilize the olfactory system as an advantageous model for addressing our research questions, employing techniques such as genetic manipulation in rodents, electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, and morphological analysis, among others.
