The goal of our research line focuses on the functional role of local inhibition by interneurons in prefrontal cortex circuits, with special emphasis on the balance of excitatory/inhibitory synaptic inputs. We use genetically modified mice and in vitro and in vivo electrophysiological recording techniques, along with morphological analysis and immunofluorescence techniques.
